FAQ

HOW IT WORKS

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. It will be a space for you to ask me any questions you may have about me or the counselling process, and to talk about what brings you to counselling. At the end of this session, we should have a good idea as to whether we want to work together and continue with further sessions, although you may want to think it over for a few days.

Once the decision is made to continue, we will establish a ‘contract’ that we both feel comfortable with. This will make clear the confidential nature of the sessions, the cancellation policy and establish our commitment to working together in regular weekly sessions. I usually see clients once a week, at the same time, for 50 mins. If we are working online, you will need a quiet, safe and private place you can use, which has quality internet connection and the use of a headset to promote confidentiality and quality.

HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO ATTEND THE SESSIONS?

It depends on what you bring and what you want from our sessions. Counselling does require motivation, time, commitment and a certain amount of bravery to work with uncomfortable feelings, or difficult memories. It can be scary at first and it can take time to build up trust and confidence, however, we will go at your pace and I will offer a gentle holding space for you to explore any issues that you feel ready to discuss.

WHAT NEXT?

Send me an email and we can arrange a time for a brief chat and go from there. I look forward to hearing from you.
